Microsoft 365 is a combination of the familiar Office apps under one name. This includes applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook. The Windows 10 operating system is also integrated into Microsoft 365. The application also includes Microsoft Teams, which makes working in companies easier, and One Drive cloud storage of one TB. Microsoft 365 can be installed and used on conventional PCs, Macs, tablets and smartphones - allowing users to work and act flexibly.

Microsoft 365 offers the advantage that the user is no longer tied to a conventional workstation. Users can access, edit and distribute their data from any location, provided they have Internet access. Microsoft 365 responds to the needs of users and the subscription can be adjusted on a monthly basis. The number of licenses can be changed on a monthly basis, so that only the real need for licenses is covered. Subscriptions are not limited to one end device and users can use Microsoft 365 on a wide variety of end devices.

Companies rely on a stable platform - Microsoft offers 99.9% reliability, which can also be financially secured with a service level agreement. With Microsoft 365, all users always work with the latest versions of the Office packages and are therefore all on the same technical level.

The use of Microsoft 365 also offers financial advantages. A SaaS solution does not require the company to have its own application infrastructure and this relieves the burden on internal IT staff in the long term. The application is therefore managed exclusively in an administrator portal. This starting position saves the company server investments, employee resources and increases liquidity.

By renaming Office 365 to Microsoft 365, Microsoft wants to make a clear distinction between the cloud services and the conventional Office suites. The distinction between corporate and private users should also be made clearer. Microsoft 365 also includes Windows 10 Pro and Enterprise Mobility & Security. The name change has no impact on the price offered and all familiar functionalities have been retained.
