Judith Schütz from OSN pointed out the paradox faced by many companies that want to drive innovation and new ways of working among employees, but are also bound by internal and external compliance tasks. Expanding on this, Christian Wyss from VISCHER explained the legal background and requirements for using cloud services in compliance with data protection regulations.
Daniel Bühlmann from baseVISION demonstrated the ease of accessing data through clicks and login forms by 'hacking' a fictitious account as an example. In doing so, he underlined an important and often underestimated point: employees are a significant part of the risk when it comes to the (unwanted) disclosure of data.
Patrick Spieler from innobit showed how this problem can be prevented: parameters relating to the management of data in the cloud or virtual workspaces in applications such as Microsoft Teams, for example, should be defined and those affected should be involved as early as the preparation phase for innovations and changes. Test phases, workshops and open communication are, among other things, important components of successful governance.
A highlight of the day was Microsoft's livestream from the events in Zurich, Bern and Geneva. Here, all participants received informative insights into the test phase of the Swiss Cloud, which was carried out with selected companies from various industries. Panels, discussions and presentations on various topics provided a good overview of the innovations being driven forward by Microsoft. In her closing remarks to the livestream, Marianne Janik, CEO of Microsoft Switzerland, appealed to everyone to become part of the progress and thus help shape a promising future.
We were delighted with the positive feedback we received for this event and would like to thank all participants and speakers who contributed to its success.
